- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE
Warning lights came on, dashboard goes dark, engine felt to shut off and then restart especially when driving on interstate highways. Possible cause of serious injury or death. Dealer has not found problem, been to dealership 4 times in 5 months, over 70 days. Car has been inspected and nothing has been found to cause the problem. No advance warnings at time of all occurrences. First occurrence was in October 2025. My opion is an electrical issue.
- STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Travelling on the expressway I received a warning on my dash that my steering had failed along with other warnings. I lost the power steering and it was very hard to maneuver. I took it to a dealer that said it was electrical (software) and they had to reset it. Why???? My concern is it could have caused an accident if my wife was driving because she would not of been able to steer it. Or if I was in the middle of a turn or lane change. This is very concerning as I'm worried about a re occurrence.
- UNKNOWN OR OTHER
My backup camera began malfunctioning in November 2025. Initially, the image became distorted, and shortly after, the screen went completely blank with a message instructing me to contact the dealership. I did so and was informed that my vehicle was not included in the recall and that I would be responsible for the repair costs out of pocket. I referenced the 15-year rearview camera extended warranty that applies to non-recalled vehicles. The dealership stated they were unaware of this warranty. As a result, I contacted Ford directly and opened a case with the Automotive Safety Office in November 2025. Today, I followed up with Ford to check on the status of my case and was told there has been no update. I was also informed that because there is no CSP number associated with the 15-year extended warranty for Edge models that are not actively recalled, Ford cannot take any action. I was essentially told that the warranty “does not exist,” despite the fact that it has been widely reported by major news outlets and automotive publications. I was further told that if my vehicle were currently at a dealership, they might be able to help, but since it is not, they cannot do anything. Ford also stated that while the issue could potentially be recalled in the future, there is no action they are willing to take at this time. This is a known Ford defect, and despite extensive documentation and public acknowledgment of the issue, Ford is refusing to repair it.
- POWER TRAIN
Transmission failing less than 5,000 miles after having the transmission serviced at a dealership. Transmission shuddering and refusing to go into gear.
- SERVICE BRAKES,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
tRACTION AND STABILITY CONTRAL LIGHTS (YELLOW) AND BRAKE FAILURE LIGHT (RED) CAME ON AND APP ON PHONE ALARMED TO INDICATE A FAILURE DEALER SAID THIS IS NORMAL IN SNOW. THIS ALSO OCCURED IN 2024 AND WAS NOT FIXED THEN
- EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The right rear taillight assembly fell out while driving on an interstate. No apparent reason
- LANE DEPARTURE,BACK OVER PREVENTION
See attached document for complaint.
- BACK OVER PREVENTION
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact stated that after shifting to reverse(R) and then to drive(D), the image from the rear-view camera was still displayed on the screen. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent at first but had become a recurring failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
- AIR BAGS
The contact owned a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact stated that, upon pulling into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle, only coming to a complete stop after partially driving through a storefront. The contact also stated that the forward warning collision system failed to activate. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a storage facility and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A police report was filed, and injuries were not reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by the contact's insurance provider, and a case was opened. Upon investigation, the vehicle's incident recorder showed that the vehicle rapidly accelerated up to 17 MPH and that the contact did not depress the brake pedal. The failure mileage was 6,000.
- UNKNOWN OR OTHER
On [XXX], while driving from Delaware to Massachusetts in her 2024 Ford Edge (purchased new in April 2024, now with roughly 19,800 miles on the odometer) on [XXX] in New Jersey, my wife experienced the cloth-panel shade of the "Panoramic Vista Roof" fall onto her. Obviously, this was a complete surprise and very dangerous to her in the control of the vehicle. She stated that about a week prior to the collapse of the shade, there had been some rattling coming from an undetermined area in the car. The Massachusetts Ford Dealer (Balise Ford - Wilbraham, MA) she brought the vehicle to stated the sunroof falling in was "not the result of a material defect." The dealership replaced the roof opening panel at a cost to us of $1120.00. The defective part was not obtained from the dealer after repair.
