  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Our car one day showed several illuminated dash lights regarding brake system, along with several pop up warnings. We took it to a Chevrolet dealer for service. They’ve had it for 54 days. They’ve confirmed widespread brake system and electrical system failure, but even after escalating to corporate tech assistance, there is no progress nor resolution available. We were told they have at least a dozen others with this same issue. It is wildly inappropriate that there has not been a recall issued as this is a serious safety defect. We demand a buyback from GM for putting this death trap on the market knowing they had these issues with 2024 models but continuing to roll 2025 and 2026 models with the same issues.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Won’t go into drive or reverse at time. Auto brake initiates automatically and car will come to complete stop with no other vehicles in front of my vehicle. Dash will freeze. Service engineer, service emergency calling, service engine, calls on star

  • SERVICE BRAKES

I purchased a brand-new 2025 Chevrolet Traverse and have been dealing with a loud brake squeal that makes the vehicle sound like it has worn-out brakes. I’ve taken it to two different Chevrolet dealerships, and instead of fixing the issue, I’ve repeatedly been told that this is a common problem with the 2025 Traverse and that many owners are experiencing the same thing. I’ve been given multiple explanations, including weather conditions and the vehicle needing to warm up, but no actual solution. I was even told there is currently no fix available through GM and that replacing the brake pads will not resolve the problem. What is most frustrating is that everyone seems to acknowledge the issue while also telling customers to simply live with it. This is a brand-new vehicle, and customers should not be expected to accept a known brake defect as normal. Very disappointed with both the dealership experience and GM’s response to what appears to be a widespread issue.

NHTSA Defect Report (Initial Portal Filing) Manufacturer Target: General Motors (GM) Filer: [XXX] Classification: Mechanical Defect & Administrative Evasion Narrative for Submission I am filing this formal defect report regarding a catastrophic, systemic safety failure present in the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse architecture (VIN: [XXX]), manufactured by General Motors. The vehicle was originally purchased at AutoNation Timonium. THE SAFETY DEFECT AND TELEMETRY PROOF On March 18, 2026, the vehicle suffered a total failure of the transmission and drivetrain systems. It was immediately surrendered to Preston Chevrolet, where it remained completely out of service for 34 consecutive days. GM's own OnStar Diagnostic Telemetry automatically dispatched critical fault alerts while the vehicle was stranded, explicitly logging the following irrefutable failure codes: DTC U1962 (PCM - Engine and Transmission System): Warning stated: "System transferring power to the drive wheels not performing as expected." This indicates a catastrophic decoupling or failure to transfer motive power. If this failure occurs at highway speeds, it results in a total loss of propulsion, creating an extreme rear-end collision hazard. DTC U0452 (VIU - OnStar System): A simultaneous failure in the Wireless Communication and Safety system, meaning that when the drivetrain catastrophically fails, the vehicle's automated emergency SOS and crash-reporting telemetry is actively blocked or compromised. ELEVATION TO ADMINISTRATIVE EVASION General Motors and its authorized dealer network were provided with formal written notice of this defect. The 30-day statutory right to cure window fully expired without any mechanical resolution. Rather than deploying engineering solutions to rectify the severe safety defects they released into the public domain, GM has instead deployed aggressive legal maneuvers designed to evade accountability. • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

I go to turn on the car on a Friday night and it won’t turn on. I got multiple failures and it said fatal errors take to dealer immediately. I brought the car to the dealer and they said the control panel needs to be replaced and they’re estimating at least a month. I’m one of four cars on a lot that need work for the same exact issue.

  • SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the messages "ESC", "ABS", "Brakes", "Emergency Brakes", "Forward Collision", "Emergency Parking Brake", and "Speed Limited" displayed. The contact depressed the brake pedal and it went to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to stop immediately. The contact activated the hazard lights, and the vehicle coasted to the shoulder. The vehicle was turned off and restarted. The vehicle was able to drive to the destination, but the failure recurred two days later. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

  • SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Started my car and several dashboard lights and service messages cane across the screen; forward collision unavailable, service ESC, service brake assist. Traction control light was also lit up.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Car cut off in the middle of driving it entire screen goes black and disable, OnStar does not go off continues to blink green even when vehicle is disable, vehicle is not completely powering off after shut down causing the battery to drain overnight.

  • VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Super Cruise or Cruise Control would not deactivate when the On/Off button was depressed, causing the steering wheel to flash red and the vehicle to suddenly shift down in velocity. A message "Super Cruise not available" was displayed on the instrument panel. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

  • FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the braking system had erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the road. During the failures no other vehicles or objects were nearby. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The contact indicated that the failure continue to occur more frequently. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 4,000.

  • STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

While driving the steering wheel will intermittently lock up or make it where you cannot turn the steering wheel at all. The collision sensors will go off and cause vehicle to lock the brakes up when you’re not even close to anything. Also, random messages will appear in dash as shift to neutral while driving ect. See pictures.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

My car randomly started alerting me of “ECS service” & “Brake assist service”. The dealership essentially did nothing even though there is an active recall on the 2024 models.

  • SERVICE BRAKES

At approximately 30,000 miles, upon starting my 2025 Chevrolet Traverse LT, the brake pedal traveled completely to the floorboards with zero resistance. Simultaneously, the 'Service Brake Assist' warning message appeared. This loss of hydraulic pressure occurred while stationary. This follows a dealership visit one week prior for a 'glitchy' check engine light that was dismissed by service staff. The vehicle is being towed via flatbed to the dealership as it is unsafe to operate. Additionally, the vehicle has exhibited abnormally 'touchy' brake response and a persistent high-pitched squeal from the front assembly since purchase. These symptoms suggest a failure of the e-Boost braking system and/or internal master cylinder seals, consistent with Service Update N242482170. This defect poses an immediate risk of total brake failure during operation.
