- UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Sunroof exploded out of nowhere. The glass shattered everywhere.
- UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Hours after a software update to the vehicle, a sudden unintended acceleration event occurred as I pulled into the alley of my office's driveway/garage. The brakes failed to work, and the vehicle rapidly accelerated in less than 2 seconds. In order to avoid endangering anyone, I steered the vehicle into City trash cans that were in front of a telephone pole. The vehicle was completely damaged, and both my passenger and I sustained severe injuries, including a vertebral compression fracture and torn neck ligaments. The vehicle is currently undergoing inspection by my insurance company. My safety was jeopardized entirely. If the vehicle had not collided with the telephone pole, it would have entered a street full of cars, thereby endangering pedestrians and other drivers. As of now, the issue has not been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer, and no attorney is willing to pursue the case due to the exorbitant costs associated with litigating against a major auto manufacturer. The police were present at the crash site, and the insurance company is currently examining the vehicle. There were no warnings displayed on the dashboard, nor was there any unusual behavior exhibited by the vehicle prior to the incident.
- TIRES
Driving at 75 mph on highway, tire "exploded". Tire air pressure immediately dropped to zero, resulting in some lack of steering control. Warning message on dash appeared upon tire failure. Drove with caution lights to open gas station. A 4-inch slash was visible in the sidewall of the tire. Car was towed to dealership and tire was replaced at my expense.
- TIRES
Driving on highway at 75 mph, tire "exploded" resulting in immediate loss of air pressure and some lack of steering control. Road conditions were optimal with clear sunny weather and no road hazards. Dashboard warning light appeared upon tire failure. Drove with hazards to dealership who replaced the tire at my expense. (P225/45R18) Dealer made a video of their findings which revealed a 6- inch slash on the inside tire sidewall. - TIRES
Approached my parked car and noticed a 2.5-inch gash in the sidewall of the tire. No warning light in dashboard. Tire pressure remained at recommended pressure. Previous driving was on 35 mph local roads with optimal driving conditions--clear weather and no road hazards. Drove vehicle to dealer to have tire replaced. Tire was covered under warranty but incurred labor expenses. (P225/45R18)
- POWER TRAIN
car had 1,645 miles rear left axle broke. Car would not move. Had this occurred on a highway I easily could have been rear ended. Part must have been defective, Dealer replaced the part left rear CV joint but not the right, nor did the dealer confirm both rear axles were not from the same batch. The failure was catastrophic and sudden with no warnings.
